As if I already didn't have enough trouble tying together the continuity of the Ainsworth family :\
This is Lena Michelle, Nick and Violet's cousin. Though she's only about six months older than Nick, Lena Michelle looks down on him as though he's six years younger than she is. It's all good though, she loves him to death as well as Violet.
From the outset, I designed Lena Michelle to be a sweetheart, and you can probably see it right from her smile and unique kind of beauty. She's generally not a mean person and she doesn't get angry at all. Especially when you have characters like Brad and Skye thrown into the mix, it's a real wonder how she manages to smile through it all. In fact, Lena Michelle is the only member of the group who isn't hostile towards Skye, in spite of Skye's sociopathic tendencies. As such, Skye holds a very deep-seeded respect for her. As for Brad, Lena Michelle takes him very seriously, and even flirts with him. Naturally, Brad has a crush on her. I would also go to say that she's sporty and somewhat athletic. Nicole finds a positive role model and a friendly rival in Lena Michelle. Max likely doesn't associate with her much, but he enjoys taking pictures of her.
Keeping in tradition with members of the Ainsworth family, Lena Michelle wears glasses, though they're rectangular frames as opposed to Nick's oval frames, but they're roughly the same size as his. She also sports blue eyes, which is typical of the Ainsworth family to have eye colors atypical to black people (Nick's eyes are green, Violet's are purple). Lena Michelle also sports a large pair of cowlicks (I thought these looked cute on her) to match Nick's. Her hair's also a very dark red rather than brown.
Another notable feature is that she's one of the few females I've ever drawn that sports white gloves.
Also of note, Lena Michelle came about as a result of a conversation between my friend (Violet's character model) and I. We wanted a character who would be part of Nicholas and Violet's family, but as a cousin (obviously). We decided to use another one of my female friends as the model for Lena Michelle and she agreed to it. She fell in love with the character after I finished the design

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
